Steam's active player data places Squad's 30-day average around 8,000 to 12,000 concurrent players as of mid-2024, which is healthy for a game in its tier but not dominant. Searches spiking around phrases like "Squad SUCKS" and "Squad game problems" reflect genuine frustration, mostly from solo-queue players who load in without a coordinated squad and find the experience punishing. Those complaints are valid. They are also missing the point of what Squad actually is.
